I've lived in a lot of places in different states, and I have not been able to find a a food co-op that I like even as much as this one. The grocery selection is fantastic, I can get all of my shampoo, conditioner, face wash, lotion, deodorant, etc here, as well a supplements and essential oils. And don't even get me started on the deli, which rocks my socks off (I say even as a vegetarian). Literally the only thing I ever miss about La Crosse!
Frank always kept the produce TOP NOTCH...best in the area. Limited selection of brands, but lots of emphasis on organic and fair trade. Friendly, helpful employees. I’ve been a member since they operated in an old house on the south side. You do NOT need a membership to shop there!
Good selection of whole/organic foods. There bulk spices is the best in the area and prices are competitive for most items; you do have watch for specials on some items. One item I noted as a member is they still only offer paper receipts. For a business that is otherwise in tune with a more natural approach to living I find that a bit odd. I have mentioned it several times and wonder why it hasn't been done. The impact on the environment could be significant...not to mention lowering the overhead cost.
I have only been here twice. The last time was like 10 years ago. The place is expensive but has good produce etc. What I was so happy about is that they have Mexican Wedding Cookies! A cookie that I only had from one other bakery that shut down many years ago. They have it in their bakery section! So so good.
This store is a co op store. Well taken care of and friendly people. It is almost all organic. I love it for it is not a overly large store but has about everything you need. Fresh produce great bakery fresh and frozen meats and sea food. Large selection of bulk spices. Large selection of supplements you need. Just about anything a large food store has this medium grocery store has. Maybe not as many different types and brands.
