Whatever project you are tackling, they have the tools and material you need. The staff is fairly knowledgeable and always helpful. I have found then to have a better selection than the Depot for most of my projects.
I’ve kept reptiles for years and have worked with both acrylic and polycarbonate, I know the limitations of both materials as well as how the heat lamps work. I don’t however appreciate being made to feel stupid or ignorant.
We will not be returning to this Menards and will be going out of our way to see the nicer folks at the Onalaska location.
Sorry but I work with small portions of poly where I work and it is most defiantly heat resistant, it’s exposed to higher heats at my work place then the ceramic bulb in her tank produces.
Went in to find a sheet of polycarbonate or heat resistant acrylic to create a custom tank divider for a 65 gallon bearded dragon encloser.
A little dissappointed in this location.
The sheets were an inch or so to wide for what we needed and we don’t have the means to cut it at home, so we asked an associate if it was something they could do after we paid for the sheet.
None of the three people we asked if and where the sheeting was located could be bothered to physically show us its location. Took us over 45 minuets if searching to find it.
It had been awhile since I was in Menards so when I went in right away I was confused and I asked the two employees where to find a hose for my shower head and the one gentleman said he would show me, but I said just point me in the right direction and I'll go find it and he gave me good directions so off I went on a new adventure!!! Since I also needed a few other things I got to plumbing and another employee showed me right what I needed!!!! Then it was off to the races, picked up some cleaning supplies and from there it really was an adventure!! Just checking out the rest of the store and added things to my list that I probably didn't need right away!! But I was impressed with the new things that were available, like I thought I would have to stop at another store for orange juice, but they carry an abundance of grocery item's now!! Too much to talk about now, you'll have to see for yourself!!! Everything was moved around since I had been there but everything was convenient to find!! Plus they were having a 11% off everything in the store!! I definitely had a great time and everyone was very helpful!!! I would recommend Menards to anyone wanting a one stop kind of store!! Oh they still carry all the good things that were available before!!!
I travel 90 minutes one way to go there all the time as there has yet to be a place that affords the same level of comfort and earned respect that Menards had achieved
The heat section of her tank is on the opposite end, the sheet would never come into direct contact with the lamp or be close enough to be effected by it, essentially it would section off 10 gallons to be used for a water fixture.
When he finally showed up he told us he wouldn’t cut it and it’s extra to order the size we need or we have to go to a special location to get it. Then gave me a lecture on how the heat source would melt acrylic (understandable) and poly.
Waited about twenty minuets before he even showed up at the counter. No way to page him that we could see and no one bothered to stop and ask if we needed something or if they could page him.
The employees were very helpfull and courteous. The selection is a step up from Home Depot the prices are great.
Great variety of everything construction and home needs imcluding small grocery area..
She said someone in mill work could do it.
Didn’t see anyone back there so we asked two more people. They both said the guy in mill work could do it.
